Make Meal Prep EASY AND QUICK!

The biggest mistake most people make with meal prep is over complicate it! Keep it simple by following the methods below.

PLAN AHEAD
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.6.5″ custom_padding=”||0px|||”]
Start with having a plan and a grocery list. Create a few different simple meals and then write a list of ingredients you will need at the grocery store. Stick to your plan!!! You don’t want to end up throwing out a bunch of food because you never had the chance to meal prep OR to go into the grocery store and forget items because you forgot to write a list.
Always prepare a protein, starchy carb or veggie and non starchy veggies. An example, make ground turkey with sweet potatoes and baked broccoli I find most people try to make too many overly complicated, healthy meals and then don’t end up sticking with it. Keep to basic and simple!

CREATE A ROUTINE
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.6.5″]
Pick a day or two to meal prep or batch cook. You can easily break this down into small size chunks where you meal prep on Sundays and again on Thursday for the weekend. Don’t underestimate the power of having food prepared on the weekends in order to stay on track.

USE YOUR TIME WISELY
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.5.1″]
Be strategic when it comes to meal prep. Turn your oven on or your air fryer or oven. Throw your rice into the rice cooker or any meat into the crockpot before you start any cutting, trimming or grilling. Then while those are cooking starting cutting up veggies. Clean while you go and use your time wisely. It shouldn’t take more than two hours to meal prep. One hour is ideal!

The most important thing is to make it fun as possible. I love to listen to a podcast or music. If you have a little ones you can have them help you cook. Remember to make it part of your routine so it becomes a habit!

MORE WAYS TO SAVE TIME
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.6.5″]
Cook extras while you can. Another way to make extra food for the week is when cooking dinner grill a little extra chicken for the week. Make leftovers. Freeze foods. Make freezer meals by throwing in all the ingredients into a bag for another day to pull out. Meal prep for more than one week and freeze the rest. Or save time by buying pre-cut veggies if possible. Pre-prepared rice or foods can also save you some time if you are busy.
